Alone inside her cage
She curls into herself
Spinning a silken shroud
Around her fractured world
Her dream catcher tangles
Its threads begin to fray
The walls of her cocoon
Splinter beneath her wings
Not suddenly
Not gently
A lifetime of unraveling
A lifetime coming undone
The butterfly emerges
Trembling and disoriented
Her familiar world in ruins
No shelter left to hide
She no longer spins
No longer clings
To the thread that held her
Between survival and surrender
Her wings tear through silence
She plunges into the unknown
Blind and courageous
Terrified and free
A warrior reaches for her
But she has already flown
No longer captive
To the life she once survived
